Technical Data

Made of cross-linked polyethylene, this reduction joint features shape memory and high shrink force, allowing for the creation of a leak-proof connection between pre-insulated pipes with diameters differing by up to two dimensions. The shape and size of the reduction joint are precisely matched to specific pre-insulated pipe sizes.

The reduction joint designed by RDL is characterized by high resistance to stress corrosion. Additionally, the profiled narrowing in the central section of the sleeve helps reduce soil resistance (friction) during the thermal movements of the district heating network.

Attention:

The joint in all sizes is fitted to typical, welded, seamless steel reduction available on the market.
Reduction joints are normally produced with butyl rubber (MR..MW).

Special reducing couplings are available on request in other sealing variants

Specification:

  • Possesses a soil load test certificate (the so-called "sand box test") for 1000 cycles in accordance with PN-EN 489:2019. The test was performed by the Research Laboratory of the Heating Research and Development Centre of the Capital City District Heating Company S.A. (SPEC S.A.) in Warsaw.

  • The reduction joint is made of black high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is radiation cross-linked.

  • The high mechanical strength of the cross-linked material ensures resistance to tearing and abrasion.

  • The use of appropriate sealing within the joint protects the connection zone even under harsh conditions.

  • The low number of components required for the joint minimizes installation time, thereby increasing assembly efficiency and reducing connection costs.

  • The joints are resistant to corrosive chemical agents and UV radiation.

  • Each joint is individually packaged in a white foil sleeve.

Content of the joint set:

  • Heat shrink joint radiation crosslinked with factory made holes

  • 2 venting plugs

  • 2 welding plugs

  • 2 cleaning tissues
